ORGANIZATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
At Redlegs OKI, our mission is to foster a positive and enriching environment for young athletes. We are dedicated to developing our players while instilling the values of sportsmanship and integrity. Our commitment extends beyond the field, as we strive to promote well-rounded individuals who excel both as athletes and as members of their communities. We aim to cultivate a passion for the game while shaping future leaders who embody high standards of character.

All participants in the Redlegs OKI organization are expected to uphold our core values of integrity, sportsmanship and development. Violations of the rules by coaches, parents or players may result in consequences, such as warnings, suspensions, or removal from the team, including not being invited back next season.
COACHES
INTEGRITY: Maintain exemplary behavior, demonstrating professionalism and respect in all interactions. Coaches must be approved by Redlegs OKI selection committee, pass a thorough background check, and carry appropriate insurance.
SPORTSMANSHIP: Uphold a safe and supportive environment for all participants, ensuring adherence to organizational standards. Actively engage with players and parents fostering open communication and mutual respect.
DEVELOPMENT: Encourage player growth and team cohesion through constructive feedback, and support. Implement Redlegs OKI hitting, pitching, fielding and strategic guidelines to ensure consistent high-quality instruction.
PLAYERS
INTEGRITY: Commit to high standards of behavior by being respectful to coaches, parents, teammates, opponents, umpires and facilities. Take pride in the uniform and the Redlegs OKI organization.
SPORTSMANSHIP: Being a "good sport" is everything Redlegs OKI is about. Win or lose, players are expected to exemplify good sportsmanship toward their teammates and opponents alike. Attendance at all practices, games and team activities is expected, with advance notice required if unable to attend.
DEVELOPMENT: Exhibit punctuality, hustle, resilience, coachability, and a competitive spirit. Supporting each other's growth, success and struggles will maximize the potential for the team as a whole.
PARENTS/GUARDIANS
INTEGRITY: All umpires, coaches, players, fans, facilities, and opponents should be treated with respect.
SPORTSMANSHIP: Model good sportsmanship by supporting both wins and losses with class, setting a positive example for our young players. As key representatives of our organization, parents' behavior must reflect the core Redlegs OKI values to help create a positive environment for your child and their teammates.
DEVELOPMENT: Parents are asked to provide constructive feedback to coaches and organizational leaders, but to also promote open communication by encouraging their children to direct concerns or questions directly with their coaches when possible. This method is meant to build trust and confidence in the coach/player relationship.

Our organization has been selected to compete in Cooperstown next summer at Dreams Park! It's an extremely selective program with only 100 teams from across the entire country chosen for each tournament. Since we're a new club, we'll be taking an All-Star team from the Ohio/Kentucky/Indiana area. If your child would be interested in playing for that team, we will be hosting tryouts on Friday, February 7 at 6:30pm at The Fieldhouse. Register to tryout using the button below.

Things to keep in mind:

1. This is taking place in summer of 2025 (tentatively the July 24 session).

2. Players cannot turn 13 before May 1st of 2025.
